As some of you may well be aware, there is a little website called Modcloth that stocks the most delightful paraphernalia. Of course, most people know it’s mostly clothes and such; however, I have compiled a list of sorts of the sort of thing one wouldn’t expect. Or I wouldn’t expect, anyway. (Really, this is just a list of all the non-clothing stuff I love.)

The Haute Handlebar Necklace. :3

The Raindrops on Railways umbrella. I <3 this.

The Cardboard Mounted Deer head. “Cow on wall…”

The Laughing Willow Lamp. Does it really?

And this is just a sample. There are many more truly hilarious bits and bobs on that website. I urge you to look. I could spend hours…

This post is about all things childish and wonderful. I’m always planning out my (future!) child’s rooms and clothing and names and whatnot, as anyone does, and when I run across rooms like this one, I tend to get very girly and excited. Think lots of hand-clasping and ‘ooohs’ escaping. My organ of adoration for the incredibly adorable is quite large.

This site has absolutely the most endearingly precious clothes one could imagine. Now, I say nothing for the practicality of buying extremely expensive, extremely stylish apparel for kids. To do so would throw some questionable light on my mental faculties of reason and so on. But one can appreciate it for its purely aesthetical charm.

Plus they have some really nice, old-fashiondey like toys and such. And apparently they will soon boast some interior decorations as well.

This little room is something I would almost fancy even now. With the lovely patterned quilt, the antique chair, the painted dresser, even the owl sitting owlishly on top: I see elements of adulthood here. Or perhaps I have remnants of childhood. Hmm…

I was going through my blogroll the other day and this guest post, on Her Library Adventures, really reminded me how much I love the bohemian culture.

I picked up this book randomly at the library one day, and was so glad I did. Ever pick up a decorating book purely to look at pictures? That’s usually what I do. And this one was chock full of lovely rooms stuffed with colorful patterns and Turkish ornaments.

They also have a Flickr group dedicated to the book and anything it’s inspired. .

Notice the butterfly chandelier. I really really want one.

Gypsy Moon Designs on Etsy has a lot of intricate, ornate jewelry that follows the boho chic theme.

Even though most people think dark, complex, Indian- or Turkish-inspired patterns and themes for bohemian, anything colorful, whimsical or highly ornamental fits the category.

This mock chandelier is so cute and bright.

And this set by Anthropologie is absolutely stunning. I realize it’s a shop, but what I wouldn’t give to live in it.

Bohemian fashion is a little easier to distinguish. Long, flowing dresses, diaphanous shirts and skirts, heavy jewelry and hair ornaments really characterize the style.

Also, in my most recent post, the caravan embroidery done by Three Red Apples fits in quite nicely. It might have been that as well that kick-started my boho obsession.

Call me a hippy: I won’t altogether deny it. If I could live in a retro trailer and wear long dresses everyday and just paint the rest of my life, I would be content.
