urban cameras

This is the situation. We go in to Urban Outfitters and start idly perusing. “Oh look, records and junk….oooh, that’s a cool WAHOOOMGCAMERAS!!!” Yeah, we were glued to the camera section forever. I had no idea a place actually stocked Holgas and Lomographs.

This is the Diana Mini with Flash Jiy Freedom Edition and the Mint Holga 35 mm. So bee-yoo-ti-ful.

And here we have the Instax Mini 7s Instant and the Lomography Diana + Dreamer Camera. All of them are on my wishlist. We’ll see how many years it is before I acquire them.

i <3 green tea

Green tea is, without the shadow of a doubt, awesome. It’s splendiferous. Beneficial. Sophisticated. But mostly it just tastes good.

This is my own green tea set I got for my birthday last year. It’s perfect.

Now, if you don’t happen to love the taste of green tea, there’s little I can do to change your mind. But I will urge you to keep trying it every now and then, for it’s miracles are far-stretching and numerous..

(Warning! Scientific content ahead!)

Compared with coffee and all of it’s horribly invigorating caffeine (90-150mg/cup), green tea has only 25 to 30 milligrams per cup. And for those of us who suffer daily at the hands of caffeine, this is good news.

Even better news is that green tea can help fight cancer, heart disease, high cholesterol, diabetes, and dementia. The power lies in the catechins called EGCG, which help to kill cells growing abnormally. It can help reduce the recurrence of breast cancer, and studies have shown it to lower lung cancer by 18%! Very nice numbers there.

How much of this miracle drink should you consume to benefit thereby? Only two cups a day. Psh, easy. I’ll take four please.

I am ever so interested in herbal remedies and such. I like to tinker with it in my spare time, which means drinking a lot of tea for ailments and seeing if they work. And then forgetting to evaluate and just drinking for the heck of it. But hey, I’m sure I’m dumping wonderful things in my body regardless, so I’m not worried.

modcloth treasures

As some of you may well be aware, there is a little website called Modcloth that stocks the most delightful paraphernalia. Of course, most people know it’s mostly clothes and such; however, I have compiled a list of sorts of the sort of thing one wouldn’t expect. Or I wouldn’t expect, anyway. (Really, this is just a list of all the non-clothing stuff I love.)

The Haute Handlebar Necklace. :3

The Raindrops on Railways umbrella. I ❤ this.

The Cardboard Mounted Deer head. “Cow on wall…”

The Laughing Willow Lamp. Does it really?

And this is just a sample. There are many more truly hilarious bits and bobs on that website. I urge you to look. I could spend hours…

Recently I have been besotted with the up and coming cover artist Birdy. I think she’s British, and she’s absolutely fabulous. I love her music, her style, and her videos.

Isn’t she marvelous? Her voice sounds so eerie to me. And I want her boots.
